This role involves applying fire engineering concepts, relevant fire safety codes, and other practices to ensure compliance with adequate fire safety standards.
Successful candidates will have well-developed communication skills and be able to interact confidently with colleagues and clients to deliver effective advice, solutions, and projects. The position requires collaboration with a team of Fire Engineers, Building Fire Safety Officers, and Direct Brigade Alarm staff, as well as interaction with operational Firefighters and other specialist officers.

Additionally, the Fire Engineer will consult with industry stakeholders to promote effective fire service intervention, firefighter safety, and the Commissioner's operational requirements.
To qualify for the Fire Engineer role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field of engineering accredited by the Washington Accord and recognised by Engineers Australia’s Australian Engineering Accreditation Centre.
